IS YOUR BATH SPONGE DUE TO BE REPLACED?
You may love your bathing sponge, the colour, design, texture e.t.c BUT do not get too attached. When you scrub your body with your sponge, dead skin cells can become lodged in it. This sets the stage for a bacterial breeding ground that can lead to skin infections and diseases.
4 Tips To Good Sponge Care:
1). Dry it daily – Rinse your sponge well after use and hang it where it can dry out .
2). Never Use It On Your Face Or On Your Genital Area – Those parts of the body are very sensitive to infection .
3). Clean It Weekly – To do so, soak sponge in hot water with either salt or a body or hair shampoo. You can also soak it in a diluted bleach solution. Soak for approximately 15 minutes, rinse thoroughly and leave to dry.
4). Replace It Regularly – At the beginning of every quarter but it can be less if you notice any mild growing on your sponge or if it develops a mildewy or musty odor, these are signs that you should get rid of your sponge.
