How to start Bar Soap business.
Soap is a reaction between fat and alkali and the alkali mostly used to make soap is sodium hydroxide.
Potassium hydroxide can also be used.
We have different types of soaps which are; powder soap, Liquid soap and solid or bar soap.

Nylon

Production chemicals

Funnel for liquid soap
Plastic bottles for packaging
Mould
Limos paper or Hydrometer to test the acidity
A strong table
PLEASE NOTE
Hydrometer or limos paper is used to test for the acidity of the solution which is normally caused by caustic soda. When green the acidity level is ok, when yellow or white it is neutral, but when it reads red the acidity is very high. You can add soda flakes to increase acidity and industrial salt to reduce acidity.
PROCESS TO MAKE (BAR SOAP) USING COLD METHOD
Materials needed
Pko 20 litres cleansing and Bubbles.
Caustic Soda 10 litres Neutralizes Acidic and Materials.
Sodium silicate ¼ litre Shinning Agent.
Sodium sulphate Hardener.
Perfume for pleasant aroma.
Colourant.
PLEASE NOTE
To make liquid or detergent soap, the rate of PKO to caustic soda is 2:1 that is for every 10 liters of PKO you need 5 litres of caustic soda.
Please Pay attention to this instruction.
Steps
Caustic soda is soaked overnight or for a minimum of six hours for fermenting.
Measure out the PKO in a container.
Pour the PKO and hardener in another bucket.
Pour in the soda solution.
Add color of your choice.
Add perfume.
Add sodium silicate.
Pour it into a mold and leave to get solid.
Cut and stamp as you please.
Always remember to test for acidity using limos paper or hydrometer.
