7. Foam booster… 750ml
8. Menthol crystals… 50g
9. Color
10. Fragrance
11. Skin friendly preservative options eg optiphen, germ plus or solbact… 10ml
12. Anti oxidants. The best option is citric acid or ascorbic acid… 50g
Natural and organic ingredients
1. Aloe Vera gel… 100ml
2. Any or all of these options
? Rose petals… 5 full blooms
? Hibiscus petals… 7 full blooms
? Chopped Pawpaw leaves …2 large complete healthy leaves.
? Crushed Queen of the Night petals… 2 hand fulls
N.B
Please these are all plants that in one way or another are in our backyard but if you don’t have them, go to the market and buy scent leaves, basil leaf (aka curry leaves)
If you have all use the ones you can find. Ask your parents or grandma what they used to use to make their hair grow before, I bet you there is always a way

The difference between a preservative and an antioxidant is that the preservative prolongs the shelf life of the entire product, while the antioxidant preserves the integrity of the individual natural ingredients in the formulation. So if you are formulating any products that contain natural ingredients, you must use antioxidants along with the preservative
Avoid anti oxidants like grapeseed oil. It is derived by the reaction of citrus grape seeds with ammonia. The result which is grapeseed oil is a very strong and effective antioxidant but becomes toxic to the skin or scalp over time
Method
1. The night before your formulation, warm one litre of water and pour it into a bowl. Add all the active ingredients available apart from the aloe Vera gel. Add The citric acid and stir. Cover it up and allow To soak up till the next day
2. Soak the soda ash in 1 litre of water that same evening
3. The next day, mix nitrosol with 5 litres of water and stir vigorously to prevent lumps
4. Add the soda ash solution to the nitrosol and water solution and stir
5. Add Texapon and add sulphonic acid after wards. Allow it to rise and calm down. Make sure you are using a container that has up to 20 litre capacity so that it can contain the reaction that causes the rise
6. Dissolve the sodium laurel sulphate in a little water and add to the mixture and stir
7. Add the foam booster and stir
8. Dissolve the menthol crystals completely in half cup of hot water and add to the formulation
9. Strain out the liquid from the active ingredients and the citric acid using a sieve and add the liquid to the formulation
10. Add the color and the preservative and stir thoroughly
11. Package and label beautifully immediately
N.B
For every formulation you are producing, make sure you rinse all your equipment and containers after a thorough wash with bleach solution which you can make by adding 20mls of bleach to each litre of water.
This is to prevent the growth of microbes that reduce the shelf life of the product.
Always package or bottle your products immediately especially those that contain water
